| Wester Hailes Digital Hubs | 6,000 | WHALE Arts has firmly established itself as the cultural anchor organisation for Wester Hailes. As a community-led arts charity and social enterprise, WHALE Art’s mission is to be the creative heart of a vibrant thriving community.
Funding will contribute towards three two-hour long drop-in sessions a week, across the Wester Hailes area, two in the WHALE Arts Centre and one in Clovenstone Community Centre with a focus on basic digital skills, being connected and online job seeking and benefit applications. There will be no set curriculum instead the WHALE Arts Digital Inclusion Lead will teach people the topics they raise and are therefore interested in. Past digital projects and discussions with local residents and members suggests that this could include, troubleshooting phones and other devices, creating and using email and social media, use Microsoft office software, writing CVs and applying for jobs using online job search sites. |
