| Community Pantry | 2,000 | The project was funded to contribute towards a ‘community pantry’ initially as a pilot project serving the Broomhouse and surrounding communities in the West of Edinburgh. The Community Pantry is a food club offering it’s members food with dignity.
The pantry is for members of the local community who need help to make their money stretch further every week. It goes beyond the foodbank model, as members pay a small weekly fee of £3.50, which gives them access to 10 fresh food items of their choosing – usually around £15 – £20 worth of food. |
