| In 2021 ‘Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts’ are aiming to deliver over 1,000,000 meals to Edinburgh’s food insecure citizens providing them with a base level of secured access to adequate and healthy food. Ensuring the children don’t go to school hungry, job seekers can focus at interviews and pensioners can heat their homes that little bit easier.
The project was funded to cover the base cost of almost 5,600 days packs (16,400 meals) supplying almost 200 citizens with a month’s worth of accessible and healthy food provisions, bridging a gap in employment, a school holiday, the waiting time for Universal Credits or having a carer assigned to you and many other instances of crisis and prevailing disruption. |
