FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

A STATUE FOR DR ELSIE INGLIS

In 2017, upon the centennial anniversary of Dr Elsie Inglis death, Frank Ross, The then Rt Hon. Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh and President of the OneCity Trust; along with the Edinburgh Evening News and Mercat Tours International began a fundraising campaign to raise funds for a statue of this remarkable lady to be sited in the High Street.

In 2020, an amazing group of fundraisers and volunteers joined the campaign and with their hard work and endeavours, managed to organise a number of fundraising events in March 2022, which raised the target of £50,000 needed to commission a statue. This funding is currently held in trust by the OneCity Trust and once the campaign becomes a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, the funds will be transferred.
